The Rules
We are glad you stopped by our site. We hope you find something here that you can take away with you, and that you will return soon.
Our aim is to encourage conversation within the OC/IC community, to explore issues, build friendships, and cultivate collaboration. In short we aim to be a positive resource within the wider OC/IC community.
We have lots to talk about – and sometimes dialogues can explore difficult or awkward issues; pointed examples are sometimes needed, but please remember the aims of this site (explore, engage, and collaborate) and that people from outside our OC/IC community regularly visit here. Your comment may be the first real exposure they have to OC/IC ideas. We must therefore strive to represent our tradition well (this means honestly), and to faithfully practice the teachings of Christ online as well as offline. Put more bluntly – this is not a bitch-slapping circle – please go to Yahoo for that!
The following “guidelines” might be helpful:
- There’s no rush – please, take time to consider what you have written. The thread will always be there, and if you’ve made a really interesting point four weeks after the original thread quiets down I’ll be sure to grab others and get them to read it.
- Attacking another OC/IC person, or community will be edited out of your comment. We can talk about important issues, difficult issues, without eating our own young (and if you cannot – I shall help you).
- Attacks on another faith or religious community will also be edited out. We are OC/IC folk – we are only concerned here with our own ideas and issues, and not the polity and policies of other denominations.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
